Introduction
I spent three delightful days in May exploring Torbay, using Torquay in Devon as my base. My visit coincided with the English Riviera Walking Festival, providing the perfect opportunity to explore parts of the South West Coastal Path. Each day, I embarked on a different hike, ultimately covering the stretch from Teignmouth to Blackpool Sands.
The weather was a mixed bag; two days were gloriously sunny, while one was a complete washout, unfortunately coinciding with my visit to Dartmouth and Blackpool Sands, leaving the scenery grey and wet. Two of the hikes were guided by knowledgeable festival guides who shared a wealth of information about the region, while I explored solo on the third day.
The coastal hikes allowed me to visit charming places such as Paignton, Brixham, Dartmouth, and Teignmouth, all from my base in Torquay. The festival guides were attentive and informative, making the experience both enjoyable and educational.

Tips and Tricks
Food
The Elephant was the best place. Not a surprise as it has a reputation as a fine dining restaurant. The other meals were all OK, perfectly good, but not memorable.
